Thankfully we are all safe here in Singapore and fortunately did not feel any of the effects of the tsunami in Japan (we were returning from an afternoon trip into Johor, Malaysia when we received word about the tsunami). But, Aunt Mary's flight into Tokyo (about 200 miles away from the epicenter) tomorrow morning has been canceled and the airport there is closed until further notice. So needless to say, we have spent much of the evening trying to get her flights re-routed back to New Orleans in time for classes on Monday morning.
In the meantime, please keep the people of Japan in your prayers. The scenes and pictures coming in from Japan are just horrific and I am sure will only get worse as more of the damage is surveyed in daylight tomorrow (Saturday).
Also, Aunt Mary has been in contact with Uncle Lynn and Aunt Iris, who are currently in Vietnam. They are staying along the coast there, but are staying vigilant.
We will keep you posted once we learn more about Aunt Mary's itinerary.
